What Is Known About the NIO ES9
The ES9 is NIO’s new flagship large luxury SUV and the SUV counterpart to the ET9 sedan. It inherits many of the ET9’s advanced technologies, including the SkyRide intelligent chassis with fully active hydraulic suspension and steer-by-wire, dual Shenji NX9031 autonomous driving chips, and support for NIO’s battery swap system.
Key specifications confirmed so far:
• Dimensions: 5,365 mm long, 2,029 mm wide, 1,870 mm high, with a 3,250 mm wheelbase (NIO’s largest SUV to date)
• Powertrain: Dual-motor AWD – 180 kW front + 340 kW rear = 520 kW (697 hp) total, top speed 220 km/h
• Battery: 102 kWh (CATL ternary lithium, 545 kg, 187 Wh/kg energy density)
• Range: Up to 620 km CLTC (options: 580 / 600 / 620 km depending on configuration)
• Curb weight: 2,845 – 2,915 kg
• Seating: Available in 6- or 7-seat layouts
